Gordon & MacPhail (G & M) is single malt whiskey in the top world’s company,it has headquarters in Elgin, being produced only 85 whiskey bottles named “The Queen’s Jubilee Glen Grant ( 60-years-old)” to celebrate the 60th years’ coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
The malt whiskey Glen Grant ( 60-years-old) was distilled on February 2nd, 1952 . It was contained into the Barrel No.465 in the Glen Grant Distillery, Just four days before Queen Elizabeth II was crowned (6 February 1952). Then, the Barrel No.465 was shipped to Gordon & MacPhail’s cellar on March 26, 1968. For exactly after 60 years of mature, in February 2nd, 2012, this rare malt whiskey was bottled at a 42.3% concentration,
Glen Grant ( 60-years-old) has various flavors of fresh fruits, spices, Pippin Cox and Granny Smith apples, They combined the scent of cinnamon and ginger. When you drink a small sip and you will feel the age and depth of this 60-year-old whiskey, firstly is the taste of cedar wood and fresh grass, but this feeling will soon be replaced by the taste of baked fruit that combined with a slight bit of mild pepper of white pepper. Finally taste is a little bit of smoke and bitter taste, the last is still the taste of toffee.
This rare whiskey is contained in a pyramid-shaped bottle which made of crystal, it decorated with a diamond-shaped stopper made of Swarovski crystal, it crafted by Glencairn Crystal. The neck of bottle is covered by a silver ring which carved the number “60”, it representing the age of the whiskey.The sterling silver cork which carved G&M logo is the seal of bottle. Glen Grant is wrapped by a luxurious purple towel , it made by Harris Tweed. Each Glen Grant ( 60-years-old) bottle that has an exclusive certificate signed by Mr. Michael Urquhart – G&M CEO . All of them were showed in a box made of Scottish wood , it was quiet handcrafted by Ross Samson and his partner in East Kilbride.
