GLENURY ROTAL 1953-2003 (50 YEARS)
Glenury Royal 50 years was distilled in 1953 at the Glenury Royal distillery in Scotland, and was bottled in 2003, just only 498 bottles at 42.8% concentration.
The Glenury Royal distillery is located at the East beach, which was near the Stonehaven port in the Eastern highlands. The distillery was established by Robert Barclay in 1825, he was one of member Parliament, so that he was permitted attach symbol “Royal” such as descentant on the distillery by The King William IV. After few years, his death in 1854, the distillery was auctioned. It had ever many companies’s owned such as: Glasgow’s William Richie (1857), Distillers Ltd (1938), and DCL Company (Diageo company) (1953). Finally the distillery had been closed in 1992.
The Glenury Royal Single Malt Whiskey 1953 is the rare bottle which is remaining from the distillery. After 50 years being nature, it has a dark amber color, this is the wonderful combination between dark chocolate and plum colour with light smoke of roses fragrancy, cigarette smoke, roasted seed-pine. Being surprised on the palate, the new fresh teast, the sweetness of cardamom candy, toffee, dark chocolate extented finally. The perfect balance between marmalade and black pepper, clearly and not too dry.
This is the rare and oldest malt flavor produced from the Glenury Royal factory which is no longer being produced.
