MARTELL METAPHORE
Referring to Martell is to mention one of the oldest Cognac manufacturers in France. With a history that started in 1715, over 100 years Martell has grown stronger and by 1868 Martell was exported to many parts of the world. The special edition Martell Metephore carries the philosophy of the Martell family, which is reflected in its sweet, mild and fragrant flavor.
- One-of-a-kind version.
The House of Martell is to reveal its one-of-a-kind Martell Metaphore exclusive edition at DFS Group’s Masters of Wines and Spirits event in Singapore this weekend (March 24-25, 2018). This is the only bottle ever released.
Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud created the unique edition from four exceptional eaux-de-vie which were preserved in the most prestigious cellar of the House, the Chai Jean Martell. The vintage eau-de-vie from 1898, masterpiece of Martell’s collection, was selected by Augustin Chapeau, first Cellar Master of the House, from the personal vineyards of Madame Martell. This vintage is combined with three eaux-de-vie aged from 1911 to 1920. Tasting notes: “A refined and intense Cognac with notes of red fruits, almonds and pecans”- Martell.
- Handcrafted & delicate design.
The expression draws on the Cognac house’s 300-plus years of history. The presentation box design was created with craftspeople from Les Grands Ateliers de France & inspired by Cognac’s countryside and terroir. This resulted in what Martell termed a “refined, elegant, dynamic case which incites curiosity and presents a unique Martell Cognac”. The presentation box reflects the geographical curves of Grande Champagne as interpreted by cabinetmaker Thierry Drevelle.
Martell Metaphore is rare because of its special taste and limited quantity, creating the scarcity of this luxury cognac.
