Since its origins in 1874, each generation of Cellar Masters, custodians of this elixir, selects from their cellars the oldest most precious eaux-de-vie for LOUIS XIII. Vital for the legacy, each transmits their knowledge from master to apprentice and no Cellar Master tastes the fruits of their art, only together do they leave behind the legacy for future connoisseurs. LOUIS XIII is an exquisite blend of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie sourced 100% from Grande Champagne, the first cru of the Cognac region. A landmark creation and decanter at the peak of art is unique in its mastery, size and stature, the creation called for over 20 master crystal-craftsmen to handle the over 15 kilos of crystal. The LOUIS XIII LE SALMANASAR was exclusively presented for private viewing by appointment at the Louis XIII boutique at the Beijing SKP luxury shopping mall.

LOUIS XIII LE SALMANAZAR is a decanter at the summit of its art, unique in its mastery, size and stature. Constructed with meticulous attention and attention to detail, it combines the skills and professional gestures of the finest craftsmen. Everyone is intimately involved in the hand-crafting of this special work.
This landmark decanter called for over 20 elite artisans to handle over 15 kilos of crystal. To accomplish this exceptional challenge, LOUIS XIII turned to Baccarat de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Meilleurs Ouvrier de France, who had never conceived a LOUIS XIII masterpiece of this sheer magnitude. More than 20 craftsmen were involved in the creation of the Salmanazar, which employs more than 33 pounds of crystal, along with a neck decorated with 20-karat gold. It comes in a display chest along with a set of eight crystal glasses, an engraved serving platter, and—to eliminate concerns about how to pour from such a behemoth—a custom-designed pipette for sampling and serving.
