BALBLAIR 1965 (43 YEAR OLD)
- Limited production version
The 1965 Balblair is the oldest and rarest bottled version of the Balblair “Pearl of the North”. Distilled on March 23, 1965, this particular whiskey has matured for 43 years in an old sherry barrel made from American oak. The 1965 Balblair impresses with unbelievable complexity and variety of flavors, as well as the endlessly stretchy finish. According to Dieter Messmer: “I tasted this 1965 with John MacDonald (Balblair distillery manager). In my opinion, it was the best Balblair I have ever had in my glass. The concentration of the tropical aroma was one. liquid miracle even for this special distillery!”.
Balblair in 1965 was bottled at a concentration of 52.3% and only 350 bottles. This is the oldest classic whiskey from the distillery from Allt Dearg Burn to the market.
- Exquisite design
Today Balblair whiskey from 1965 is the oldest vintage of the distillery and is its pride. Therefore, the updated exclusive gift packaging most fully corresponds to the premium status of whiskey.
This does not mean that the old 1965 Balblair box was too bad. Rather, it can be defined as “stylish”. But, probably, from the point of view of the manufacturer, it lacked solidity, which was the reason for the creation of a new gift package, the main purpose of which is to personify the modern interpretation of luxury.
The implementation of the idea was entrusted to the West German company Dahlinger, which specializes in luxury packaging. Dahlinger boxes typically contain Swiss watches, jewelery, gold nib pens and French champagne, and now Scotch whiskey from the North Highlands. As a result of the efforts of German whiskey designers, Balblair 1965 received an exceptionally sturdy chest of polished ebony wood, trimmed with cream-colored leather inside. At the base of the box is a drawer that contains the certificate of conformity and tasting notes.
According to these tasting notes, the 1965 Balblair whiskey is a perfectly balanced drink with a bright yellow color. It is characterized by rich hints of spices, fruits and a pleasant skin aroma, a hint of spice and cereal, honey, raisins, pears and lemon. The finish is creamy and a little smoky.
