DALMORE 2000 TO THE NEW MILLENNIUM
In 1263, when Colin, Chief of the clan Mackenzie, saved King Alexander III of Scotland from a charging stag. As a reward the grateful King, granted Colin of Kintail the right to use the 12-pointed Royal Stag as the Mackenzie clan crest; serving as a constant reminder of the glorious Mackenzie dynasty.
To welcome the new millennium, The Dalmore was the first distillery in Scotland to run off new spirit at 12:02am on the 1st Jan 2000. Dalmore 2000 was included in The Dalmore ‘Decades’ collection, which is limited to 15 sets, will be available of 5 expressions, from 1967 to 2000 and will be released by the end of this year. Certainly, for people who have a passion for rare wines, the hunt for sessions this limited edition will be extremely difficult.
On the journey to reach the world, The Dalmore was coveted by collectors as a number of releases would go on to break records in specialist stores and auctions.. Dalmore 2000 The Millennium spirit was fully matured for 20 years in Matusalem sherry butts, exclusive to The Dalmore and integral to the house style; with a limited number of only 15 bottles released worldwide, each bottle is packed in a concentration of 47%, volume 700ml.
Matured in warehouse four since the 1st January 2000, this incredible 20 years old is a very rare example of a full maturation in a sherry butt that once held 30yo Matusalem Oloroso Sherry wines. It reveals extraordinary depth and finesse with a chain of visionary and influential craftsmen, setting the standards in the nearly 200-year history that many blenders follow today.
