Le Voyage de Delamain Cognac
Le Voyage de Delamain Cognac is a collector’s dream, a rare and precious Hors d’Age that defies belief, destined for only the most discerning drinker. The name, “Delamain’s Journey” is fitting for the Cognac, as it is a true tribute to the first trip taken by founder James Delamain in the heart of the 18th century. It’s no wonder this marvel of musk, leather, tobacco, fruit and spice was labeled the “Best of the Best” in 2008 by Robb Report’s Anthony Dias Blue.
When a young Irish man by the name of James Delamain set foot on French soil for the first time, he was excited to visit the land where his relatives had traveled over a century before. Upon arriving in Charente, he established what was to be the one of the oldest Cognac houses in the world.
Since then, 11 generations of Delamains have continued James’ legacy, taking each drinker of their Cognac on a journey that expresses both the heritage of the ancestors that came before them whilst appealing to the tastes of the modern drinker. Jarnac has been home to the Dalamains for over 250 years, but their Cognac has journeyed across the world and pleased the palate of many a connoisseur.
Le Voyage de Delamain has been produced using the house’s oldest and best Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, a hallmark of quality and a testament to the house’s long history in the region. These well-aged eaux-de-vie have been waiting patiently in the house’s cellars by the Charente rivers, resting in large, well-sealed demijohns until the ultimate moment of maturation. Only 500 of this collector’s Cognac have been produced, at a retail price of 6,000 Pounds.
The bottles are presented in a stunning hand-crafted carafe with clean curves, it is perfectly posed onto a leather fan-like presentation case, which opens like a book to reveal the Cognac that pays homage to founder James Delamain, telling his story through an abundance of aromas and a finesse of flavor.
