GLENTURRET 33 YEAR OLD
The Glenturret, Scotland’s oldest working distillery, has launched a limited-edition super-premium single malt whisky series in collaboration with renowned French glassmaker Lalique. The first release is ‘Glenturret Provenance’ 33 year old, restricted to 320 decanters. The project for the new limited-edition series was instigated by Silvio Denz, Chairman and CEO of Lalique Group.
“The Glenturret Provenance is all about reflecting on time, memories of places and people gone before” – The Glenturret Managing Director John Laurie. The producer said that the series celebrates ‘The Glenturret Trinity’: the three touchstones of Provenance, Prowess and Passion that underpin the distillery’s philosophy to preserve and enrich the world of whisky making for future generations.
Crystal decanter designer Larminaux said of his design inspiration: “Highest quality barley is the starting point for The Glenturret. Fields of barley slowly swaying in the soft breeze and the early morning light are truly a beautiful, mesmerising sight. The barley is represented through a glittering clear and frosted finish on the motif, hand-carved into the crystal by Lalique craftsmen.”
The Glenturret Managing Director John Laurie said: “2020 has been a challenging year for all but also a very exciting year for us. We recently introduced a fresh visual brand identity as well as six new expressions, hand-crafted by our incredible team at the distillery in Crieff. Adding The Glenturret Provenance is an important milestone for us – this is a whisky to be savoured slowly, which fits in perfectly with our distillation process as we still do everything here by hand.”
