Among whiskey collectors, the Macallan 1926 Fine & Rare is considered a “masterpiece”, even dubbed the “Holy Grail”, because of its quality as well as its artistic design value and longevity.
This is a Macallan single malt of cask 263, distilled over 90 years ago and aged in oak barrels for 60 years. In a statement, renowned whiskey expert Martin Green said: “Collectors around the world will patiently spend years waiting for a bottle of Macallan 1926 to come to market.” With an extremely limited number, this version immediately became the dream of many people when it was released.
Recently, on February 18, 2023, this bottle of Macallan 1926 60 Years Old Fine & Rare was officially certified by Guinness World Records as the “World’s Most Expensive Whiskey” with a value of £1,345,174 ~ $1,750,000. This new record belongs to a collector from Vietnam. It can be said that, in extremely small quantities and extremely high value, this version has long been an elusive wish, but now that it has achieved its own Guinness record, surely it is already a version money cannot buy and owning it will become more and more difficult.
