A.E. Dor Coffret Prestige Cognac
The vintage eaux-de-vie of A.E. Dor are one the few that are left from before phylloxera struck the region in 1874. Adapting to current developments in the cognac industry and the luxury market in general, the company, today headed by Jacques Riviere, have launched a new range of products that target a wider and more international group of consumers.
Amédée-Edouard Dor who first established the company in 1858 was not only passionate about perfecting the aging process of his Cognacs, but he was also determined to preserve them in a way that they could be enjoyed by future generations. Preservation was achieved by decanting the spirits into glass demijohns and sealing them with wax.
Today, A.E. Dor presents all of the cognacs in its range in ornate decanters and wooden boxes, with a belief that the splendid aesthetics only enhance the pleasure of the tasting. And A.E. Dor Coffret Prestige is the clearest example. This is the most exclusive Cognac available from the house of A.E. Dor and the most distinguished spirit you can have as part of your collection. This particularly exquisite Cognac was worthy of a tailor-made suit and so legendary crystal works DAUM, cut a crystal decanter especially for it. The Cognac and its crystal suit lie in an exclusive “coffret” bed, crafted from burl mahogany wood in Charente.
