To determine the value of a wine bottle, we often look at their age. The older it is, the more it shows its stature and arouses interest among collectors. Old whiskey has long been rare and hard to find and any existence will become a jewel. The 1862 Old Vatted Glenlivet version represents the brightest jewel while carrying a precious historical value.
On March 14, 2017, at the H15 Boutique Hotel in Poland, a bottle-opening ceremony took place the legendary 1862 version, which is said to be the oldest whiskey version in the world at that time. The delicate drops of 1862 Old Vatted Glenlivet were used for the first unique cognac watches on TG, marking a partnership between Wealth Solutions and independent Swiss watch brand Louis Moinet. The bottle-opening event made a big splash that year, when they decided to release the oldest version of the whiskey to mark this special milestone.
The idea that 1862 Old Vatted Glenlivet would completely disappear and indeed become a thing of the past, when in that year there were indeed very few bottles to be found. Now, in 2023, 6 years after the event, another version of 1862 Old Vatted Glenlivet has appeared spectacular and even more outstanding, winning for itself the Guinness World record for “oldest Scotch whiskey”. This prestigious title has been given to the most deserving bottle, marking the milestone of the miraculous existence of a whiskey from the 19th century.
