The two whiskies that we have selected are spectacular malts and we hope that they, alongside the unique distillery experience, generate lots of interest and bids amongst enthusiasts.” – John MacDonald, Balblair Distillery Manager.
Two rare vintage whiskies have been selected from Balblair Distillery and specially re-bottled for the auction. The decanter style 70cl bottles are housed together in a luxurious, wood finish display case, featuring a built-in drawer containing a bespoke booklet of information and tasting notes. Inside are rare vintage bottle of Balblair 1969 & 1989 in hand selected American oak ex-bourbon barrels.
Balblair 43 years is a perfect balance of sweet fruits, oak and spices and has a long lasting finish while the 23 years has been matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and epitomises the Balblair character, with sweet, warming notes of vanilla, orchard fruits and golden syrup. Both whiskies are crafted and matured at Balblair Distillery in Edderton in the Scottish Highlands – a place where times passes slowly and a warm, unrushed welcome always awaits
