701.9 BALVENIE DCS CHAPTER 4
Balvenie DCS Chapter 4 consists of five rare whisky bottles. Especially, whisky 47 years was distilled in the Olorosso sherry European oak barrels in 1971 with an amazing scent. And whisky was brewed in American bourbon oak cask in 2009. Balvenie DCS Chapter 4 was released to commemorate the rare wine casks that would never be reissued.
✦ Balvenie 1971 (47 years): was distilled on March 8, 1971. NOSE: Exotic spices with brown sugar and dark fruits. TASTE Rich and deep with layers of oak and honeycomb. FINISH Lingering dried fruits with a malty sweetness.
✦ Balvenie 1982 (36 years): was distilled on 27th February 1982. NOSE: A bouquet of mixed spices balancing a sherried oakiness. TASTE: Plenty of dried fruits, a gentle oakiness and hint of dark chocolate. FINISH: Lingering spicy sweetness
✦ Balvenie 1982 (36 years): was distilled on 23rd January 1992. NOSE: Intensely fruity, spicy and sherried. Hints of cloves and cinnamon.TASTE: Very smooth and silky on the palate, developing with roasted almonds and dried fruits. FINISH: Rich and sherried with a spicy sweetness
✦ Balvenie 1999 (18 years): was distilled on 1st July 1999. NOSE: Fragrant, floral and fruity with pineapple, melons and vanilla pods. TASTE: A luscious mouthful of fresh fruit, toffee and maple syrup. FINISH: Rich, creamy with a warming spice.
✦ Balvenie 2009 (8 years): was distilled on 7th April 2009. NOSE: Citrus, peat and a bouquet of malty aromas. TASTE: Fresh sweet blossom honey and vanilla gently blend with light peat notes. FINISH: A lovely malty sweetness with distant smoke.
