THE BALVENIE DCS COMPENDIUM CHAPTER FIVE: 1962 56 YEARS
The single malt whiskey specialist, The Balvenie, has revealed the final chapter in his DCS Compendium series, named Chapter Five: Malt Master’s Indulgence ‘, which includes five rare Scotch whiskeys.
The collection was created by Master David Stewart because of its meaning to his career. It starts with a 56-year-old liquid – the oldest wine released by The Balvenie to date.
Stewart is one of the longest serving distillers in the wine industry with nearly six decades of experience creating whiskeys that exist only on their own. Stewart takes a lot of time to learn how each barrel is different and how the wood affects the whiskey maturation process to create the greatness of new whiskey.
Chapter Five: ‘Malt Master’s Indulgence ’covers a range of single malt whiskeys from 16 to 56 years. Like all previous releases, the fifth set is presented in a handmade wooden frame engraved with individual numbers, displaying their set number. Each set is accompanied by a book “The Balvenie DCS Compendium” signed by David and written by former Balvenie Global Ambassador, Dr. Samuel J. Simmons, along with rare historical archives from home distillation machine.
