Berry Bros. & Rudd Bottle of Ronnie’s Reserve 1969
“When looking at a representative old-style cask to reflect my enjoyment of 40 years in the Scotch Whisky industry I look no further than that which we had bottled under Berry Bros. & Rudd’s, Curriculum Vitae of 1969 – a lifetime of stories and fun contained in each drop”- Ronnie Cox, Brands Heritage Director, Berry Bros. & Rudd.
Approaching the end of a 45 year career in the Scotch Whisky business, 30 years of which was spent with Berry Bros. & Rudd Ltd (BB&R), Ronnie was tasked by Lizzy Rudd, Chair, to select just 7 casks from his favourite Single Malt distillery, from a cast of thousands. He chose those which he believed best represented the changes during his time in the industry. The Ronnie’s Reserve 1969 single cask goes under the name of ‘Curriculum Vitae’ – the story of his life and, whilst it is one of 122 bottles from this 50 year old single cask it will be the only such bottle ever to be signed by both Lizzy and Ronnie.
To make its delivery to its new owner something totally unique, Lizzy has offered to host a Scotch Whisky dinner to be held in the Directors’ Dining Room in the historic building of Berry Bros. & Rudd at No.3 St. James’s Street, London. The invitation is for the successful bidder and up to seven of their guests. This is the first and probably the only time that BB&R will host a whisky dinner in the Directors’ Dining Room – normally the preserve of the finest of wines – and to commemorate the event they shall be offering a tasting and 8 bottles of another of their BB&R single malt bottlings distilled in 2006, specially personalised and labelled for the guests.
