BOWMORE 1955 40 YEAR OLD
Bowmore is a distillery that produces Scotch whisky on the Isle of Islay, an island of the Inner Hebrides. The distillery, which lies on the South Eastern shore of Loch Indaal, is one of the oldest in Scotland and is said to have been established in 1779. The distillery is owned by Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd, a holding company owned by Beam Suntory, a subsidiary of Japanese multinational drinks conglomerate Suntory. The 40-year Bowmore 1955 handout is a Morrison classic, distilled in 1955. The unique climatic conditions of vault number 1 at the Bowmore distillery allowed the distillery to create whiskey bottles with breathtaking ages.

For four decades, this remarkable whisky has lain in the same silent dark vaults and for twenty years the whisky breathed deep through its bourbon hogshead oak cask and matured, becoming rich in colour and warm and subtle in flavour. Then, after transfer to a carefully selected sherry butt, it was once again laid to rest in the same vaults for a further two decades under the care of the men of Bowmore Distillery.
Seven distillery managers carefully monitored its maturation and followed its progress to its ultimate bottling at cask strength. This gorgeous fruity Bowmore has been declared by more than one of our customers to be the best that they have ever tasted. After such a long period of ageing, the malt has taken on a very elegant character and shows restrained peat combined with ethereal layers of exotic fruit. A serious, subtle malt that demands the drinker’s time and full attention.
The whiskey presented in a beautiful crystal vase reflects care and attention to detail, once again honoring the art and tradition and the professional skills of the craftsmen in the production process. export. Each bottle is individually numbered and created to show the image of a traditional Bowmore bottle. Handmade oak display box by Master Cabinet Makers of Charles Kirkby & Sons, Sheffield, UK. Their world-renowned skills ensured that this extremely rare whiskey had a worthy hold.

It was a beautiful morning, November 22th, 1955 this soul was poured into oak barrels. The waters of Loch Indaal still smash hard against the walls of the Bowmore Distillery on Islay’s Hebridean Island, and seep through precious whiskey cellars. That 40-year-old soul matured deep down, reflecting the unique characteristics of the Single Malt whiskey. For four decades, this remarkable whisky has lain in the same silent dark vaults under carefully monitored of seven managers, followed its progress. Only 306 bottles of Bowmore 1955 were released worldwide. Each bottle is bottled at a concentration of 42.0% ABV, with a volume of 700ml.
