BOWMORE 1964 43 YEAR OLD
This is the second in the Limited Edition Trilogy of outstanding Bowmore Single Malt Whisky, The White Bowmore is rigorously matured in a Bourbon barrel to compare Black Bowmore’s, one of the most memorable and collectible whiskeys in the collection of legendary distilleries. White Bowmore is seen as a symbol of whiskey collection, whiskey drinking and whiskey investment.
- The taste cannot be confused.
Amazing, in seven letters. Fantabulous notes of tropical fruits (Mangos, grapefruits, passion fruits, kiwis, …) mingling with a very ‘Indian’ blend of spices: Cardamom, caraway, ground ginger, nutmeg, green curry… Stunning, really. There’s also these very maritime notes (kelp, iodine, wet beach) and these floral ones (lilies and peonies, beautifully heady here.) An amazing whisky – no, rather a perfume from the very best makers’.
Frankly, people had thought it would all happen on the nose, but it’s not the case at all. Superb attack all on passion fruits and then mastic-flavoured Turkish delights, a little roasted argan oil, lemon pie, all kinds of soft spices, high-end lemon squash and, as expected, notes of oak, with a very pleasant and subtle bitterness as a signature. And there’s well a little peat lingering somewhere.
Probably not extremely bold but amazingly clean and straightforward for a short while, getting then very subtle and complex again. Whispers, but whispers for a very, very long time
- Production is limited.
The spirit was filled into six Bourbon Casks then laid down to mature in the distillery’s famous vaults. This Limited Edition release was distilled on the 5th of November 1964, combines the flavors of pure tropical fruit with oak. Only 732 bottles were obtained from the casks, but the result is outstanding.. Bottled at 42.8%, with a volume of 700ml.
The 43-year-old sparkling yellow Bowmore differs from its White Bowmore designation, and is presented in a luxurious wooden box. Although not quite as perfect as Back Bowmore, but the 43-year Bowmore 1964 is truly excellent, deserving of worldwide collection.
