BOWMORE 1964 FINO SHERRY CASK
Another amazing whisky from Bowmore distilled in 1964. Considered by many to be the best of the bunch (even beating the Black, Gold and White trilogy), this is elegant, but with an incredible complexity- Bowmore 1964 Fino Sherry Cask.
- Limited production
The unique climatic conditions of the No.1 Vaults warehouse at the Bowmore distillery have allowed the distillery to release several versions bearing part of the history of the years over the years. Just 72 bottles of this ever existed, each bottle is packed with a strength of 42,9% ABV with a volume of 700ml. This whiskey has been gently matured in an old Bourbon barrel for almost half a century and then completed in a Spanish sherry fino barrel.
- Vibrant flavor
This is the last barrel from Bowmore’s legendary 1964, a sherry Fino barrel to mature for 46 years on Islay. Just like the other 1964 Bowmores that make up the Bowmore Trilogy, this whiskey is surprisingly vibrant with flavors of peach pie, mango, nectarine, oranges and other tropical fruits, together. with cream, candy, raisins and a hint of apple red. Vibrant and fruity flavored with peach, pear, tangerine, orange peel and a warm spicy hint of ginger. The end is a fusion of tropical fruit flavors, and the salty taste of sea salt. All that is perfect is what is used to describe that unique flavor.
- Unique design
This 46 year old Bowmore bottle comes in a beautiful glass and wooden box. Whiskey is gently matured in old Bourbon casks for almost half a century and then completed in Spanish Fino Sherry casks. Bowmore commissioned Brodie Naim and Nichola Bums, two of Scotland’s leading glass artists to design bottles worthy of their superb malt. Inspired by Islay’s Loch Indaal and using molten glass, they hand-blew and meticulously sculpt the shape of each bottle. They describe the continuous, ripple-like motion on the surface of the Loch, making it almost possible to feel the water waves when holding a bottle of wine in your hand.
