BOWMORE 1981 28 YEAR OLD
The Bowmore distillery was founded by John Simpson on Islay Island off the west coast of Scotland in 1779. Located on the shores of Loch Indaal, this is the oldest distillery operating on Islay Island and one of the oldest malt whiskey distilleries in Scotland. The Bowmore distillery continues to produce part of its barley, malt and its own traditional malt. Although they no longer meet all of the distillery’s requirements, they still contribute a third of the amount of malt consumed per serving.

- Delicate taste
The Bowmore distillery’s proximity to the ocean was also important in determining the ultimate character of the whiskey spirit. Bowmore No. 1 Legendary Vaults is where most whiskeys spend a lifetime maturing quietly in cool, wet, dark cellars below sea level, ignoring the waves hitting the directional wall. to the sea of cellar number 1. They mature in oak barrels gradually developing a rich and mellow flavor. Bowmore 1981 balances the rich aromas of treacle toffee, ripe figs, smoked vanilla rind, and mildly fruity aromas. Above the palate is a whisper of peat-earth smoke, giving way to fruity flavors, all perfectly balanced with the taste of Atlantic sea salt.
