Dalmore 1979: Curating Exquisite Casks.
The Dalmore Distillery, home of the famous single malt whiskeys, is elegantly located on the coast of Comarthy Firth in the Central Highlands. The distillery’s production capacity has brought a diverse range of Dalmore bottles which whiskey enthusiasts can choose. Each collection of the Dalmore distillery is specially released with limited editions. One thing is for sure, the hunt for limited editions is really tiring, time-consuming and money-making.
Dalmore 1979 is in The Dalmore “Decades” limited-edition series. The “Decades” is limited to 15 sets, will be available of 5 expressions, from 1967 to 2000 and will be released by the end of this year.
The legendary Dalmore 1979 version of The Dalmore ‘Decades’ collection moved into exclusive Matusalem and then into Graham’s Port Vintage 1952; 40 years old and bottled at a concentration of 41.5%, volume 700ml.
With a chain of craftsmen whose vision and influence set the standards in history for nearly 200 years ,under the strict management of master blender, Mr. Richard Paterson. For 50 years, Richard Paterson has been on a mission to cross the boundaries of what is possible in whiskey production and art inspired by the vision of the founder of The Dalmore. His excellent expertise and in-depth knowledge of rare and precious wines has created legends for The Dalmore, and set the standard in Single Malt Whiskey. During the 1970’s Richard would work with the Mackenzie family to better understand the secrets of The Dalmore.
The water used in the Dalmore is taken from the river Alness, which runs through the small town of Alness, where the distillery is located. The waters of the river flow from the nearby Loch Morie, located deep in the heart of the Northern Highlands. The location of the Dalmore’s distillery and its smooth, floral flavor qualify it as a Highland malt.
The release of the famous Black Decanter 50 years old was pioneering – creating the category of luxury single malts. Today, like many of the subsequent Dalmore releases, this exceptional 40 year-old whisky is sought after by collectors from all over the world.
