The new Dalmore 50-Year-Old, according to the distillery, was crafted to mark master distiller Richard Paterson’s 50th year in the whisky industry.
The Dalmore – a luxury whiskey, set to release a particularly rare single malt, the 1966-2017 Dalmore was released to mark the 50th year of master Richard Paterson in the whiskey industry, with his passion, expertise and artistry, Paterson pioneers the finishing art that makes The Dalmore a hit.

1966: The Dalmore new make spirit began its journey in American white oak
ex-Bourbon casks
2003: The maturing whisky is transferred to Matusalem oloroso sherry casks.
2012: The whisky is transferred to Port Colheita pipes for 4 years.
2016: In January of this year, the spirit was transferred to Bourbon barrels as it reached its desired taste profile, prior to finessing.
November 2016: The whisky was finessed in Domaine Henri Giraud Champagne casks for 50 days before bottling.

Bottled at 40% abv, volume of 700ml; this is one whopper of an expression, with only up to 50 decanters being released, each of which will be hand-filled on order. To hold this unique whisky, the artisans at prestigious French crystal house Baccarat have skilfully created crystal decanters, each of which will be held within a presentation case designed and crafted by the accomplished furniture makers at LINLEY. Finally, each decanter will be adorned with a solid silver stag, created by silversmiths Hamilton & Inches, holder of The Royal Warrant.

It’s not the oldest version The Dalmore has ever released, but the novelty of that long-running fluid journey certainly makes it a rather unique recipe. The result is a drink with delicate flavors with aromas of orange peel, eucalyptus and mint essential oil. There’s a little vanilla, a hint of ripe banana and guava, and a rich honey-cake flavor.
Like many whiskeys of this age, the mix of different styles, the influence of oak and the special formula create a luxurious drink that will fascinate anyone who has the chance to enjoy them.
