DALMORE 59 YEAR OLD 1951
In 2011, Dalmore continued to add to their extremely rare “Vintage” collection with The EOS 59 year old 1951.
The 59-year Dalmore is a unique masterpiece in a legendary journey with the name: “The EOS” – the name of the goddess of dawn, the daughter of the Titan Hyperion – God of observation and Theia goddess. She is also the younger-sister of the Sun God Helios and the Moon Goddess Selene. Legend says that Eos’s daily job is to leave her home on the edge of the ocean every morning to wake up her brother Helios. Then the goddess will open the gates of heaven so Helios can drive his carriage of the sun across the sky every day. The Dalmore Eos is bound to become a valuable part of whiskey history.
- Excellent taste.
Little did we know it then, but on the seventh of June 1951 we were creating history. This was the day that casks 1781 and 1782 were both filled and then left to mature, deep in our dark, bonded warehouse. As countless dawns swept the land, the characteristics that make Eos so unique, slowly developed, infusing the spirit with distinctive aromas, flavours and finishes. Now, over half a century later, our Master Distiller finally believes it’s time to bring this individual spirit out into the spotlight.
Just as the sky lightens before dawn, the subtle aromas reach you well before your tongue senses the exquisite flavours. An exhilarating explosion of honeyed pear and pineapple, bitter dark chocolate and roasted coffee wakens the senses before the nose brightens to proffer soft peaches, mangoes and almonds.
Intense flavours of toffee and caramel, orange, golden syrup and cinnamon all then vie for attention on the palate and leave a long lingering full-flavoured aftertaste.
- Limited production.
