DALMORE CONSTELLATION 1966

A second oldest version of the Dalmore Constellation series must be mentioned is the 1966 Dalmore Constellation.

Dalmore vintage 1966 cask no.7 was distilled on December 31,1966, as part of the Constellation Collection. It was aged in an American white oak ex-bourbon cask for 37 years before a further double maturation – firstly six years in an Ex-Matusalem oloroso sherry butt, then a final two years in an ex-bourbon barrel.
Only 237 bottles of Dalmore Constellation 1966 were released globally, each bottle is bottled at a natural concentration of 41.7% ABV, with a volume of 700ml. Crafted in a hand-blown crystal, created by artisans of Baccarat, famous French crystal house. Each bottle is engraved with the year of distillation, age, number of barrels and decorated with a silver royal deer, a symbol of the Dalmore Distillery from 1867.

Matching the extraordinary location is a special location, the Dalmore distillery is located in Alness, Scotland, 20 miles north from Alness. It lies on the banks of the Cromarty Firth overlooking the Black Island, with the name “vast grasslands”. The water used in the Dalmore is taken from the river Alness, which runs through the small town of Alness, where the distillery is located. The waters of the river flow from the nearby Loch Morie, located deep in the heart of the Northern Highlands. Dalmore 1966 has blood oranges, crushed apples and pear followed by Ogen melon, walnuts, Jamaican jerk and cinnamon. Whispers of Bulgarian roses and jasmine coupled with coriander and cocoa powder complete the experience. Rich taste of ripe mandarins, kumquats, black forest fruits and pineapple tease, before a wave of ortaniques, ginger, black treacle and chewy liquorice follow with hints of vanilla, creamy caramel and Swiss chocolate.
