Glen Moray 32 Year Old 1988
“Few casks ever capture the essence of Glen Moray and seamlessly combine it with the rich, deep fruity notes offered up by the highest quality Port wood but Cask 0900010 is a perfect example of what can be achieved.” – Stephen Woodcock, Head of Whisky Creation.
For this particular project, three casks of Glen Moray were specially chosen by Head of Whisky Creations Stephen Woodcock to be assessed by Stephen and by Glen Moray Global Brand Ambassador Iain Allan. These casks were not just assessed for the typical characteristics of colour, nose, palate and finish but additionally for how they best reflected their history. Showcasing the intensity of care and attention given to them whilst they slept in Glen Moray Distillery’s iconic Warehouse 1, encapsulates everything Glen Moray wanted this whisky to reflect.
“To release a single bottle is quite unique for Glen Moray, to release one of this outstanding quality is an absolute privilege” – Iain Allan, Global Brand Ambassador.
Presented in a bespoke decanter by Glencairn Crystal, designed with a minimalist aesthetic allowing the beauty of the whisky to speak for itself. Winners of the lot will be invited to the distillery to collect in person if desired. A private tour and tasting in the exclusive lounge at Glen Moray House will be included. Overnight accommodation with breakfast in the area will be provided as will lunch at the distillery on the day.
Glen Moray Distillery has been distilling on the banks of the River Lossie since 1897. For over 100 years, it has been producing the finest malt whisky, marrying traditional values with innovative maturation styles and to this day it is famous for its cask finishes and experimental approach.
Based in the historic town of Elgin, Glen Moray is the most northerly Speyside distillery. Sheltered by two mountain ranges, Moray boasts a milder climate than the surrounding areas and the distillery itself sits in a low lying area which encourages a humid environment in its warehouses. All of this allows its light sweet spirit to mature and soften into such a beautifully classic Speyside whisky.
