KARUIZAWA 1963 (50 YEARS)
Rare whiskey expert Andy Simpson from Rare Whiskey 101 said: “Given the vast demand for Karuizawa whisky in recent years, we wondered whether the market might have begun cool for this iconic distillery. However, judging by the global interest and the prices paid for this most recent auction, it would appear that Japanese whisky is still at the apex of many collectors’ wish-lists. What we don’t know, of course, if whether any of these bottles will resurface on the secondary market in years to come, or whether they will be opened, enjoyed and forever lost to the collector market.”
One of the most famous versions in the Whiskey market – Karuizawa 1963 (50 years). This is an excellent whiskey and has received much acclaim from the community of whiskey lovers around the world by:
➡ Like most limited editions of Single Cask, Karuizawa 1963 (50 years) matures in sherry cask #5132 at Karuizawa distillery. This version only released 131 bottles at 59.4% and 700ml.
➡ Rich flavor, skillful combination of vanilla and dried fruit but does not lose its inherent gentle elegance.
➡ Karuizawa 1963 is packed in an exquisite silver-carved crystal bottle by artists and placed in a wooden box with cherry blossom motifs – the symbol of Japan, symbolizing fragility and the beauty of life.
➡ It is difficult for anyone to want to own their own. With only 131 bottles released worldwide in 2014 and keep decreasing everyday, in addition to the expensive price, it is difficult to buy anywhere. We could only find it at big auctions in London, Hong Kong and Singapore.
➡ Nowaday, its remaining products are considered to be the rarest and most valuable in the market. Anyone who own this bottle mean that holding “a treasure”.
Although the Karuizawa distillery was closed in 2001 but the soaring search demand in the past few decades is the perfect balance. This is one of the most sought and invested whiskey brands in the world. The legend of the distillery located at Asama mountain in Nagano Province was over but its whiskey is still hunted on the market today.
