KARUIZAWA 1965 JAPONISM EDITION
Karuizawa 1965 Japonism is the perfect blend of sherry cask #2372 and bourbon cask #8636, both were brewed in 1965 at Karuizawa distillery. Karuizawa Japonisme Edition was launched to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the influence of Japanese culture and civilization La Maison du Whiskey during the past 150 years.
This whiskey serves as a role model that simulates balance – an invitation to explore the world of aromas and flavors that have lived in this legendary distillery. And the idea of Le Japonisme is also evident in this version, from the dedication to art to the rich history and fine whiskey craftsmanship. Le Japonisme really brought life to this 1965 bottle.
Multi flavors: Yes, opening a wick is a room full of the fruit sweetness. You will feel lost in the fragrance of flowers and fruits. Drinking is as good as enjoying it with the nose, malt flavor, rich fruit, rose, lychee, saffron and chocolate.
Smooth and long lasting: The biggest impression for me is the Karuizawa 1965 Japonism that leaves a very smooth, viscous, easy-to-drink aftertaste of all Whiskey single malt I’ve ever known. Perhaps due to Karuizawa 1965 Japonism is the best combination of perfect Sherry and Bourbon, marshmallows and notes of nuts, dried fruits, flowers, and tropical oils combined harmoniously.
Japonisme was formed in the 19th century when French painters discovered Japanese prints used to pack furniture imported into France. And Japonisme has become the inspiring idea to complete the design of this special edition. The intricate interior details of the work clearly identify the specificity of Japanese culture, while the exterior design is a luxurious leather box that expresses the sophistication, contemporary of France and La Maison Du Whiskey.
The motif on the glass bottle contain this rare spirit painted by two French and Japanese artists, telling the story of the relationship between these two great nations. At the center of the design is the Karuizawa brand represented by the brush stroke that symbolizes the brush strokes of the artists who created the Japonisme movement. Each bottle is individually numbered and etched the sun on the back of the bottle.
Each set will come with two 50ml bottles containing sherry and bourbon, an exclusive Japanese book printed half in English and half in French, and a set of polaroid taken by La Maison Du Whiskey when they visited the Karuizawa factory.
This 1965 whiskey was released only 60 bottles on March 8, 2017 at 62.41%, volume is 700ml.
Karuizawa 1965 Japonism Edition matured in 50 years is a beautiful version of single malt, the cultural and artistic cross between Japan and France full of sophistication.
