MACALLAN 71 YEARS OLD – THE RED COLLECTION
1. The limited edition combines the skills and experience of a whiskey team across generation.
“It has been an amazing and incredibly memorable experience to nose and carefully select the casks for The Red Collection. Creating this wonderful range simply would not have been possible without the skill and experience of the current whisky team, combined with previous generations of whisky mastery at The Macallan.” – Sarah Burgess, Lead Whisky Maker at The Macallan
During these decades of slumber, the carefully selected wood shaped the unique character of the whisky delivering the natural colour, distinctive aromas and full flavours of this aged single malt. Macallan 71 years old has been matured in the distillery’s oak barrels under supervision over generations during 7 decades.

On the nose: sweet and spicy opening with Wood spices, soft ginger, nutmeg and orange peel moving into rich vanilla reminiscent of a crème brulee. There are underlying notes of honeydew melon and fig. On the palate: The sweet and spicy characteristics continue on the palate with a sweet ginger sponge moving into the creamy vanilla flavours of a baked custard tart. Finally moving into a combination of lapsang souchong and treacle tart. Finish: A medium finish rich in Wood smoke, peach and hazelnut
