MACALLAN 1988 – 2018 EXCEPTIONAL SINGLE CASK NO.8
The Macallan Exceptional Single Cask range provides an opportunity to experience those moments. The Macallan Exceptional Casks series was relaunched in 2017. The range takes its name from a number of single cask bottlings Macallan released during the 1990s, which are often described as some of “the greatest Macallan of them all.”
As mentioned earlier, The Macallan is a very popular distillery with customers. Cask No.8 was recently released via emails from Macallan to the lucky few customers on their database. Contained in cask No.8 was exceptional Macallan malt which had been distilled in April 1988.
The whisky was matured in a single European Oak Sherry Butt until being hand selected by Sarah Burgees on the 10th of July 2018 and being bottled at cask strength in October 2018, one of only 508 bottles. Notes from Macallan: “Rich dried natural product with raisins, sweet blackcurrants, vanilla and nutmeg. Dried foods grown from the ground zest. Long, sweet squeezed natural product.”
