MORTLACH 1938 (70 YEARS)

The 70-year-old Scotch malt whiskey was distilled on October 15th, 1938 in Spanish oak barrels. It was bottled exactly after 70 years (October 15, 2008). Mortlach 1938 was produced just only 54 bottles at 46.1% concentration, 750ml capacity.

The Mortlach distillery was established by Mr. James Findlater, in 1823. It is located at the center of Speyside in Scotland. Duff Town is known as the “World’s Whiskey Capital” where is produced malt whiskey more than any other town in Scotland. There are seven distilleries overhere but only the Mortlach distillery is the oldest.

Mortlach 1938 has the delicate time fragrance of rosewood, black cherries, and licorice. The fresh feeling in the palate combines between dry oak wood and peat smoke. At final, it leads to a long end taste of peach, skin and wax candles.
