The most expensive whisky sold in a private sale is a bottle of Macallan 1926, which was purchased by Nguyen Dinh Tuan Viet (Vietnam) for £1,345,174 (€1,561,642, $1750,000) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on 10 May 2019.

The Macallan 1926 bottle contains whisky that comes from Cask #263.
