REMY MARTIN 290TH ANNIVERSARY COUPE
Founded in 1724, Rémy Martin is the world’s leading producer of Fine Champagne Cognac. It is because Rémy Martin is made exclusively with eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne crus, with the greatest ageing potential, sourced from the rarest vineyards, that it delivers cognacs of such unique aromatic intensity. Centuries of perfecting the art of cognac making have resulted in spirits of unparalleled richness, flavour and complexity.
On September 18th, 2014, distinguished guests gathered at the Abbaye de Bassac, in Cognac (France) to witness the 9th edition of the Charity Gala dinner “La Part des Anges”, and a new page in the House of Rémy Martin history being written. Attendees watched the breath-taking moment when the single magnum decanter, from the Rémy Martin Cellar Masters’ Perpetual Reserve was revealed.
The story of this coupe is unique: it is a perpetual reserve of eaux-de-vie which never runs out, sustained over the years by four generations of cellar masters. To celebrate its 290th anniversary, the House of Rémy Martin chose to extract a small quantity of this perpetual reserve, testimony of this perennial transmission.
Sold for an impressive price: €39,000 in 2014, this Rémy Martin bottle was later bought by a famous collector in London for £120,000, and is finally owned by an Asian businessman, when he bought it for £180,000.
This unique bottle of Rémy Martin in the world is a testament to the distillery’s nearly three-century existence, with its superb quality, exceptional significance and absolute limited quantity. A true masterpiece can only be admired.
