1900.2 SINGLETON OF GLEN ORD 41 YEARS
SINGLETON OF GLEN ORD – 41 YEARS
Singleton was crafted by ‘Master of Malts’, Maureen Robinson, the whisky is bottled at a cask strength of 49.9% ABV and is the oldest whisky released since the distillery was founded in 1838.
The inaugural release was made using a small batch of predominantly refill American oak casks, different from the distillery’s traditional use of refill European oak ex-Sherry casks, the company noted.
The influence of the refill American oak makes The Singleton of Glen Ord 41 Year Old so precious, as it’s so unusual for this distillery to have a whisky of this age in this type of wood,” explained Robinson.
The resulting liquid takes on “depth of taste” and complexity on top of the distillery’s signature balance and smoothness, the company added.
