TAMDHU 50 YEARS
In 1896, Tamdhu Distillery was established at Speyside. In 2010, the Distillery was closed in short term. Almost people think that it would disappear forever. However, Mr.Ian Macleod bought the distillery one year later. They reproduced again in 2013. Celebrate the rebirth and 120 years old anniversary of Tamdhu, Mr.Ian Macleod has produced a single malt whiskey ( Tamdhu 50-years-old ).
The 50-year-old Tamdhu was distilled on 2nd November 1963, in the first sherry oak barrel of Europe. It bottled at 55.6% natural concentration. Only 100 bottles are produced in worldwide.
Being mature in a half of the century, so Tamdhu has the distinctive color of Mahogany wood and the flavor of forest fruits, oak, and bold orange. The fragrance of roses, dark chocolate, and almond cake. On the palate has the aroma of cloves, licorice, espresso and grilled apples. The next is a special feeling of banana, black pepper, and grilled almonds. Finally, it is the aftertaste of cocoa, ginger, walnuts, and syrup of maple tree.
This rare whisky was presented in a collection which ís designed by a traditional craftsmen team in British such as: Katy Holford (glass designer), Royal Brierley (crystal specialist), and the silver jeweler at the famous luxury jeweler Hamilton & Inches.
Each Tamdhu bottle was contained in the box which made of snakeskin color oak wood. It describes the location of the Tamdhu distillery on the Spey River, the Victoria Railway Station and the unique sherry box. Outside the box was decorated silver label which made from extremely delicate handicraft.
