The Glencairn Ruby Tribute Blended Scotch Whisky
To mark the 40th anniversary of the family-owned and run Scottish crystal and glassware company, Glencairn Crystal, the Davidson family is auctioning a unique and special blend of aged whiskies in a stunning crystal, silver and ruby-encrusted decanter. With contributions from some of the world’s most iconic master blenders, The Glencairn Ruby Tribute Blended Scotch Whisky uniquely captures a true moment of whisky history. This ruby-encrusted decanter contains a one of one whisky blended by Richard Paterson using contributions from some of the world’s most revered master blenders. All component whiskies of this blend were matured to in excess of 18 years and the final blend was bottled at a strength of 42,5 abv.
The contributors to this unique blend were Jim Beveridge (Diageo), Shin Natsuyama (Morrison Bowmore), Colin Scott (Chivas Bros), David Stewart (William Grant), Billy Leighton (Irish Distillers), Ian Grieve (Diageo), Robert Hicks (Allied Distillers), Jim Cryle (Glenlivet Distillery), Seiichi Koshimizu (Suntory), John Ramsay (Highland Distillers), Richard Paterson (Whyte & Mackay) and David Doig (Fettercairn Distillery).
The decanter is presented in a beautiful rectangular rosewood box, alongside the handwritten scroll and tasting notes by Richard Paterson, as well as the photograph of the presentation by the master distillers. The decanter stopper is a three-dimensional representation of the Glencairn Crystal logo depicting Robert the Bruce, King of Scotland, also crafted in Britannia Silver. The base of the decanter incorporates the signatures of all the master distillers who contributed their aged whiskies for this exceptional blend.
