THE GLENLIVET – THE WINCHESTER COLLECTION 1967
This is the third instalment in the Winchester collection. This special whiskey was distilled in December 1967 by former Master Distiller – Mr. Robert Arthur and matured for at least 50 years in American oak cask before was bottled at 48% abv. This edition was released 155 single bottles.
The whisky is non-chill filtered at cask strength, and boasts a rich and fruity nose, notes of apricot jam and sweet ripe peaches, and a hint of toasted almonds. It has an incredibly smooth taste with fondant orange and milk chocolate flavours, an amazing velvety texture and a long, and luxuriously sweet finish.
Vintage 1967 was designed by British designer Bethan Gray. She was inspired to create from nature around the Glenlivet distillery in Scotland. The wooden box is made of maple and copper stills, She collaborated with glassblower Brodie Nairn, based in the Highlands of Scotland, who crafted each bottle with contemporary hand-cut lines to create an ombré color effect that echoes the half-century ageing process of the liquid inside using innovative glassmaking techniques and bespoke cutting tools. The bottle is then engraved and hand-painted.
