0015. MACALLAN IN LALIQUE 60 YEAR OLD

The “Curiously Small Stills Decanter” at The Macallan in Lalique Six Pillars collection is the 4th limited edition. It is the co-opration between Macallan and Lalique. This version was produced in September 2011. Just had only 400 unique bottles be sold in the worldwide.

In this period, The Macallan was produced the extremely rare 60-year-old whisky, which distilled from the Spanish and American oak barrels , they were filled in November 1950, and being bottled in 2011 at 53.2% concentration

By this version, The Macallan wants to honor the small distillation barrels, which contained The Macallan whiskey ( 60-year-old). Based on that idea, to continue with the Art Deco style of the last versions, Lalique was simulated the shape of the round bales of The Macallan’s small distilleries. The detail of the crystal, which was sharpened roundness shape on the bottle surface, that look like the rivets around the distillation machine door. The cork was designed to follow the shape of a handle, which copper extracted from a distillation machine that had been unused. This special version was packaged in the English oak box, which handcrafted by the Royal furniture maker – Mr.Viscount Linley. He is a grandson of the Queen. The bottle included 4 premium glasses of  Linley brand.

The Macallan 60-year-old is the excellent malt whiskey, it has the cherry color and the aroma such as: cinnamon, grilled apple, lemon, those were mixed with raspberry leaves and oak wood. All of them were covered with peat flavor. The sweetness of oranges and dark chocolate in the palate, which before ending of the sweetness taste of malt and a little bit of peat, that stroking your throat.
