Macallan has revealed the fifth and final version of the Golden Age of Travel series – a 35-year-old single malt wine called The Air Ship. This last release was distilled in 1940 and first bottled in 1975. After that, it was re-bottled in 2019.

Still a familiar design with a crystal vase and a distinctive drawing that highlights the mode of transportation, presented in a luxurious leather case. The first disclosure: the wine is still an ancient oak color with a rich taste of orange oil and dried fruit, delicately balanced with the gentle floral fragrance of spring flowers.

There are a total of only 48 bottles dedicated to both global travel retail and The Macallan Boutiques, of which, there will be 2 bottles dedicated to The Macallan and Lalique archives. The Golden Age of Travel series launched in 2015 evaluating the partnership between The Macallan and French glassware manufacturer, Lalique. Each limited edition crystal vase is inspired by the transportation methods from the 1930s, in order of ship, plane, train, car and hot air balloon.
